I'm David Laycock, a web designer and illustrator living in Essex, in the United Kingdom. I have been working as a web designer and occasional illustrator for the past 4 years, 2 of which working in London. I have experience working for local government projects as well as projects within small to medium sized companies and for large organisations. Below are a couple of examples of my work.

Client: Elite Tiling Ltd

Services provided: Content Management System (CMS - Wordpress), Custom Website Template, HTML, CSS, PHP

For Elite Tiling Ltd this was to be their first client facing website and needed to deliver everything they needed to update the website themselves. They also requested their content to be organised in a very specific way, which required many development hours bespoke designing and building their new website. The end result is a website they feel proud of and after on site training delivered during two sessions over two days at their head office in Chelmsford, Essex, Elite Tiling Ltd are confident that even with no knowledge of building and maintaining websites, they now have the core skills in their business to update and maintain their website

Client: Matt Birch Pictures

Services provided: Internet Marketing and Photo Selling Solution

Matt needed to upgrade his previous website, which was designed and built by myself last year. The new solution focusses on a website that markets his services to full effect. Matt can upload and organise his full resolution photographs without any web design or coding knowledge. This ease of use, combined with the ability for Matt to sell his photographs as digital downloads, will allow Matt to stay ahead of other photographers in his field. Combined with incredibly strong SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) tools, Matt will be able to build his Internet presence over the coming months and years.

A new web site has been launched for LB&F Ltd. LB&F Ltd were looking to create their first online web prescence as a shop window to display their range of construction abilities. The website focuses on showing projects during the construction phase, and explaining what the client needed and how LB&F Ltd met their client's expectations with the correct choice of materials and their exact construction design abilities.

Client: Lets Party Fireworks

A new web site has been launched for Lets Party Fireworks. Lets Party Fireworks were looking to re-launch their website as a catalogue to showcase their new range of fireworks. The website focuses on the fireworks, and not only includes descriptions and pictures of the fireworks, but also videos for many of the fireworks through Lets Party's new You Tube channel to help generate more traffic to the website.

Client: Essex County Council

A new web site has been launched for Essex County Council. The local government were looking for a way to showcase all their fantastic country parks in one online location. It needed to be easy to navigate, as well as showing all the neccessary information related to each park, including maps and activities available at each location. This is the largest website I have designed and built since becoming a freelance web designer, and am really happy that so many people in and around Essex will be able to benefit from the new website.

A new web site has been designed and build for Karin Rainbird, a chartered psychologist. She was looking for a professional design that would be in keeping with the mindset of her clients, so a minimal clean structured design was built, allowing her to have a professional client facing web presence where new clients could get in touch.

Matt needed a web site to show off his photography skills with the ability to update the web site himself. With this in mind, the website was designed around Wordpress, which allows Matt to easily update the website without any prior knowledge of web design. Matt can now add additional galleries allowing him to showcase photographs from his latest events.
